Fire breaks out at private hospital in Odisha’s Cuttack, all patients safe
A major fire broke out in a private hospital in Odisha’s Cuttack on Monday. The fire has been brought under control and all patients are reportedly safe. No loss of life has been reported in the incident.
Cuttack: A major fire broke out in Sun Hospital, a multi-specialty private hospital at Tulasipur in Cuttack, Odisha on Monday.
While the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, three fire tenders have reportedly been pressed into action to tackle the blaze.
“All patients have been safely rescued and shifted to other hospitals. An inquiry will be held into the incident,” said Collector Bhabani Shankar Chayani.
“As the information received by us, there were only eight patients in that part of the hospital building. Out of the eight patients, three have been discharged while the other five patients have been shifted to a nearby hospital. The 20-25 staff members have also been successfully evacuated on time to safer places,” Chayani said.
Sukant Sethi, chief fire officer, said that the fire has been completely brought under control.N Noloss of life or injuries has been reported so far.
Soon after the news spread, Cuttack Collector Bhabani Shankar Chayani, DCP Prateek Singh, Cuttack-Barabati MLA Mohammed Moqueem, CMC Commissioner Ananya Das and several other senior officials were seen on the spot to take stock of the incident.
