Shutdown In Barbil Town Due To Spike In Contact Cases for 7 days.

Keonjhar: Collector Ashish Thakare on Sunday announced a 7-day shutdown of Barbil Town area as out of the 25 new cases of COVID-19 in Keonjhar district, 11 are local contact cases reported from the area.

Thakare informed that the 11 cases are primary contacts of an earlier positive case. Meanwhile, contact tracing and sample collection have been intensified in Barbil Town.

The remaining 14 cases are returnees from other States, out of which 13 are in TMCs and one in Home Quarantine. They are from Harichandanpur, Ghatgaon, Ghasipura, Patana, Hatadihi and Keonjhar blocks.

A total of 182 cases have been detected in the district to date, out of which 81 are active cases and 101 have recovered, informed Thakare.
