Chhath Puja festival celebrated in Odisha by Cuttack Mahanagar samiti.
Cuttack: Chhath puja is a Hindu Vedic festival dedicated to the sun god (Lord Surya) and chhathi Maiya. It is an important festival of Bihar; apart from that Chhath puja is also observed in Jharkhand, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal as well as the Madhesh region of Nepal. Chhath puja is also called Chhathi, Chhath Parv, Dala, Chhath Dala Puja, and Surya Shashthi. During this festival women of the house observe fast and pray for the wellbeing of their children and family.
In Odisha due to covid-19 pandemic situation Government of ODISHA had issued order not to celebrate chhath Puja in the bank of river.
Cuttack Mahanagar chhath Puja samiti, and others were present in the meeting held by DCP Cuttack, for smooth functioning of chhath Puja festival in the silver City, by obeying the covid-19 pandemic guidelines issued by the government of Odisha.
This year most of the devotees are celebrating puja and giving argh to sun at their homes, instead of bank of rivers.
President sailesh Kumar Verma and his team members help and support to the devotees for performing their puja sucessful in the city.
Shri Nand lal singh convener of BJD apravasisammukhya said he had made appeal to all the north east Hindu leaving in Odisha to follow the guidelines of the government of Odisha and do Puja.
Mukund Kumar Sinha, sunil sharma, Sudhakar Kumar sahai , paras Saha, mukesh Singh, Mukund Tiwari, were present in the meeting, all all the members of the Samiti were present.
