88% Covid-19 Patients In Cuttack City Under Home Isolation: CMC Commissioner

CUTTACK:Around 88% of Covid-19 patients in Cuttack city are under home isolation, informed Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) Commissioner Ananya Das.

Addressing a presser here on Covid situation and its management in Silver City, Das said that presently the city has 3685 active cases.

She Rapid Response Teams (RRTs) are constantly monitoring patients who are in home isolation.

Patients who have mild symptoms or are asymptomatic are in home isolation, she added.

The CMC Commissioner said that those patients who do not have proper home isolation facilities are shifted to Covid Care Centres. These centres have oxygen facilities.

“Only 10 per cent patients are shifting to hospitals and out of them only 3 per cent are requiring ICU facilities,” stated Das.

She said as of now Cuttack city has 1200 beds which include those in SCB Medical College & Hospital.

“Out of these beds, 300 are ICUs. There is little pressure on ICUs. For that, we are trying to involve private hospitals and expand the capacity at SCB Medical College & Hospital. At present we are trying to add another 100 bedded set-up at SCB. Out of that 41 will be ICU beds and 40 will be HDU beds,” she explained.
