DGP Abhay has lauded the Twin City Police for successfully implementing the ‘Mo Sarkar’ initiative of State Government.

Bhubaneswar: TOB-NNS: “I am glad it has successfully implemented the Mo Sarkar initiative of the State Government, said Mr.Abhay during the 12th Foundation Day of the Police Commissionerate on Thursday.

He informed that excellent feedback is being received on implementation of the initiative and asked all personnel of Bhubaneswar–Cuttack Police Commissionerate to maintain the momentum.
“Bhubaneswar–Cuttack Police Commissionerate has been able to create an identity of its own across the State in last 11 years. You have been able to gain the trust of twin city denizens because of your excellent service. I congratulate and thank you for working hard to serve public despite of many challenges,” said Abhay.
While asserting that rapid and coordinated responses are major challenges for police in urban areas, the DGP said that steps have been initiated in this regard.
“Efforts are underway to setup a unified control room and get more PCR vans for Bhubaneswar–Cuttack Police Commissionerate,” the DGP said.
The State Government is giving priority towards security of women, said the DGP while announcing the scheme for empowerment of women in the twin city. He further advised the women police personnel to create an environment of safety.
Twin City Police Commissioner Sudhanshu Sarangi while announcing the new motto of Bhubaneswar–Cuttack Police Commissionerate– ‘
– announced that decision has been taken to re-christen its headquarters building as Police Seba Bhawan.
Dr.Sarangi also announced that the Commissionerate will initiate steps to deal with organized crime soon, establish high-quality CCTV camera security system for Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, facial recognition system with help of artificial intelligence and emergency response system.
The Police Commissionerate will be more active in its service towards senior citizens, Dr.Sarangi said adding, “In view of safety and security of women, the Police Commissionerate launched the Women Empowerment For Gender Sensitive Policing programme from Thursday.
Steps are being taken for upgrading the traffic system and proposals have been sent to the State Government to increase police visibility in the Twin city of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, the Twin City Police Commissioner said.
The Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Commissionerate on Thursday inducted 246 Lady Special Police Officers (SPOs) to deal with cases of harassment of women in the twin cities.
The Lady SPOs comprise college girls, IT and call centre employees who volunteered to join on non-salaried basis, officials said
