Odisha CM Naveen said“The world is watching Puri!

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today reviewed the preparations for Bahuda Jatra of Lord Jagannath and his siblings to be held in Puri and asked the concerned officials to put their best efforts in this regard.

“The world is watching Puri. We must put our best efforts to ensure all precautions are taken,” the CM said during a videoconference with senior officials.

Patnaik thanked the servitors of the Shree Jagannath Temple, Puri district administration and all those involved in organising the Ratha Jatra in the town this year.

Speaking on Bahuda Jatra, the CM said, “Please complete all rituals on time. Strictly ensure all those tested negative (for COVID-19) will participate in the ritual and chariot pulling.”

Information & Public Relations Department must ensure the live telecast of Bahuda Jatra, Suna Besha, Adharapana and Niladri Bije, he said.

Patnaik advised them to conduct aggressive surveillance for COVID-19 symptoms and scale-up testing. Invoke volunteers to do community mobilisation in creating awareness among people, he added.
