Illegal Sand Mining in Cuttack – 5 Truck seized

Cuttack: The Cuttack district administration on Wednesday seized five trucks following a crackdown on illegal transportation of sand.

The documents seized from the drivers are being verified and action will be taken, official sources said. The move came as a clampdown on illegal mining of the minor mineral in the Kathajodi riverbed.

While the raiding team seized the vehicle, tehsildar and other revenue officials have also stepped up operation in the city in this connection, sources said.
