Young person from Maharashtra tragically drowned in a river in Mayurbhanj.

Bhubaneswar: A tragic incident unfolded when a young man from Maharashtra drowned in the Hatabadada river, located under the jurisdiction of the Rairangpur Rural Police Station in Mayurbhanj district. The victim has been identified as Sundarlal Balnath. Sundarlal, a 45-year-old from Udasa village in Nagpur district, Maharashtra, was known for selling herbal medicines in the Rairangpur area alongside his family and relatives to make ends meet. According to his wife, he went for a swim in the Hatabadada river and unfortunately went missing. Despite their efforts, family members were unable to locate him. On Monday, locals discovered a body floating in the river and promptly alerted the police. Fire service personnel later retrieved the body, took it to Rairangpur Sub-Divisional Hospital for an autopsy, and then returned it to the family. A case of death has been filed at the Rairangpur Rural Police Station, and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident is currently in progress.
