‘Politicians Versus Actors’ T20 Match To Promote The ‘TB Mukt Bharat’ Initiative

 BY ADARSH MISHRA

Mumbai: Former Union minister and BJP MP Anurag Singh Thakur hosted a fun T20 cricket match featuring politicians and actors at the MCA Cricket Stadium in Mumbai, all in support of the TB Mukt Bharat awareness campaign. Arjun Kapoor, appreciating the event, jokingly noted that with the IPL just kicking off, Yusuf Pathan was eager to join in. The ‘2 States’ star said, “It’s great to see him smash the ball out of the stadium, but it’s a bummer since he’s playing against my team.” He continued, “Entertainment, politics, and sports are key to spreading any message. It’s wonderful that we can all unite for such an important health cause.” Actor Arjun Rampal added, “This initiative is fantastic. It’s a crucial effort led by the Prime Minister. Anurag Thakur told me that 28% of our population is affected by TB, so raising awareness is vital. I really hope we can get the message out there and achieve a TB-free India by 2025.” Rajpal Yadav chimed in, saying, “This is a wonderful cause with a great mindset aimed at achieving a TB-free India. To be free from disease, staying fit is essential, and sports are a fantastic way to maintain fitness.” Dino Morea expressed, “The three most cherished fields in our country—entertainment, cricket, and politics—have come together to support the mission of eradicating TB. TB is a serious illness, and if we can use this match to spread the word and eliminate this disease, it would be a remarkable initiative.” The match featured Leaders XI, captained by Anurag Thakur, going up against Actors XI, led by Suniel Shetty. The event also saw the presence of Maharashtra Governor CP Radhakrishnan, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, actor Salman Khan, MPs Supriya Sule, Arvind Sawant, and former MP Pritam Munde.
