Exams Postponed/ Cancelled? Latest Updates on CBSE, ICSE, NEET, JEE Main, Advanced, CTET, University Exams

CBSE, ICSE, Final Year University Exams, JEE Main, NEET and CTET are some of the few exams scheduled for July. Decision to postpone or cancel the exams is awaited. Check latest updates here.

Lakhs of students across the country are waiting for final decision on the upcoming examinations. Central Board of Secondary Education, CBSE and Council for Indian School Certificate Examination, CISCE (ICSE Board) are expected to announce their decision for the July examination. CTET, JEE Main and NEET exams are also scheduled for July as well as University Exams for final year students are also expected from July. CBSE, ICSE Board Exams 2020

The two national boards that are scheduled to conduct the remaining exams from July 1 to July 15. Pursuant to a PIL in the Supreme Court for CBSE and in Bombay High Court against ICSE exams, the decision is pending and not been taken. In the last hearing, CBSE had informed the Supreme Court that it would be deciding and sharing the final decision by today – June 25.

As for ICSE, after Maharashtra Government denied giving permission to ICSE for exams in the state,
Bombay HC has given time till June 29 to give its verdict. ICSE Board had informed the Bombay HC that it was waiting for CBSE to finalize the decision. ICSE would then share its marking criteria in case students were to ‘opt out’ of the exams.

JEE Main, NEET Exams 2020

Students are also hoping that JEE Main and NEET, scheduled to be conducted in July as well would be postponed. The two national level entrance examinations have more than 20 million students registered for the July exams. Though there is no update on any consideration by NTA, HRD minister’s review meeting with the heads of all boards has sparked a hope with students that these two exams would also be postponed. As for JEE Advanced – if JEE Main is postponed, JEE Advanced would be postponed too.
