Bus accident in Ganjam -CM announced an ex gratia of ₹.2lacs

Gunjam:  Bus skids off mountainous roads. The accident has taken place near Ganjam Taptapani ‘Ghati’ road, as the bus lost balance and skid off a bridge.

Seven people have lost their lives and more than 50 have been injured.

The injured have been admitted to Berhampur and Digapahandi hospital.

Sources say that a few other passengers are still stuck under the bus.

The private bus called, ‘Maruti’ was travelling from Rayagada to Berhampur, when it lost balance and skid off the roads in the wee hours of morning.

It is suspected that the brakes of the bus had failed.

Patapur police and fire personnel have reached the spot and are carrying out rescue operations.

A list of all the people who have lost their lives in the Ganjam  bus accident is as follows: 1. Jhunu Behera-Putabgarh, Raygada 2. Bidyut Nayak – JKpur, 3. L. Ramesh Behera- Purushottampur, 4. Karishma Nayak- Kabisuryanagar, 5. Sunil Nayak- Berhapmpur, 6. Subhasini Maharana- Karpara, 7. Sanghamitra Mahapatra- Raygada, 8. Abinash Mahapatra- Raygada

CM Naveen Patnaik expressed deep grief at the death of the passengers travelling in the ill fated bus in Ganjam.
