A review meeting was held by DG, of Police, Fire Service, Odisha to review the preparedness to combat cyclone YAAS.

Cuttack: A review meeting was held on 20.05.2021 with all the senior
Officers of Odisha Fire Service under the Chairmanship of Sri M. Akhaya,
DG, of Police, Fire Service, Odisha, Cuttack to review the preparedness to
combat cyclone “YAAS”. In this meeting, all the Fire Service personnel
were directed to be in readiness with relevant rescue equipments like
Power saw, Inflatable tower light, Inflatable Rubber boats etc.
Today Sri M. Akhaya, DG, Fire Service visited Kendrapara district
and reviewed the cyclone preparedness with Superintendent of Police
along with Senior Police Officers and Senior Officers of Odisha Fire
Service. He then, visited Jagatsinghpur district & discussed with
Superintendent of Police, Jagatsinghpur along with Senior Police Officers
and Fire Service Officers at Paradeep and reviewed the Cyclone
preparedness as well as directed to all Officers of Fire Service to remain in
readiness with man and machine to combat Cyclone “YAAS” coordinating
with District Administration and Police.
During this visit, DG, Fire Service also visited 125 bedded Covid
Hospital at Chhata under Kendrapada district and 70 bedded Covid
Hospital at Biju Yatri Nivas at Paradeep of Jagatsinghpur District. DG,
Fire Service discussed with deployed Fire Service personnel and Hospital
Employees to ascertain their preparedness on fire prevention and safety of
the hospital and directed them to be alert to meet any fire emergency.
