CAA implemented in the country.
New Delhi: CAA implemented in the country. Central government has made a big announcement regarding Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). Central government has issued a notification regarding CAA today. According to this law, non-Muslims such as Hindus, Sikhs, Jains, Buddhists, Persians and Christians who came to India before 31 December 2014, will be granted Indian citizenship.
Shah had already said that CAA will be implemented in the country before 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Modi government brought CAA in 2019. Then the government had not implemented this law as there were protests in different places of the country including Delhi.
Government through CAA wants to give citizenship to people who have taken asylum in India after enduring persecution from Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh. The Home Minister had earlier said that it will not take away the citizenship of any Indian. Shah also said that CAA has been brought to grant citizenship, not to take citizenship of anyone. Minority communities in our country especially our Muslim community are being confused about CAA Act. He will not take away anyone’s citizenship. Because there is no such provision in law. CAA’s aim is to grant citizenship to oppressed refugees in Bangladesh and Pakistan.
