Sri Sri University’s Annual Fest Orion Inaugurated
Cuttack: Eastern India’s fastest growing College Fest Orion 2020 was inaugurated today on 17th January.
Sri Sri University’s 6th Annual Cultural, Sports and Academic Fest was hosted with mega fanfare. The
Ceremony was graced by Shri Akash Das Nayak, Eminent Actor, The Chairperson ‘MO’ College (MoS),
Government of Odisha, Shri Ashok Kumar Sahu, the Vice President, Gymnastic Federation of India, Ms.
Rajita Kulkarni, President, Shri Narendra Lamba, Director Operations and Prof. B.R.Sharma, Executive
Registrar, Sri Sri University.
The ceremony portrayed Orion’s motto of ‘Best of East and Best of West’ with precision. The inauguration
ceremony started with Vedic Chanting by the Veda students of Gurukul and Saraswati Vandana by the
students of Performing Arts. This was followed by classical and Sufi dance performances.
Prof. Ajay Kumar Singh, Vice Chancellor of the University gave the welcome address to the gathering. This
was followed by the address by the guest of honour, Shri Ashok Kumar Sahoo, the Secretary, Odisha
Gymnastics Association addressed the audience and threw light on the importance of sports and games
and said about the role played by Sri Sri University in promoting the students excelling in different fields.
Mr. Narendra Lamba gave a speech and brought a wave of energy into the environment with his
enthusiastic and motivating words. Ms. Rajita Kulkarni, President of the University told about 5 C’s that
play a very pivotal role in our life such as Cobwebs to Clarity, Confusion to Creativity, Competition to
Cooperation, Conflict to Collaboration and Concern to Celebration. Then, the Chief Guest, Shri Akash Das
Nayak gave his speech and told that we should always be hard working(Josh) and should be disciplined,
so that we could contribute in nation building and he declared Orion Fest open. The Executive Registrar,
Prof.(Dr.) B.R. Sharma offered the vote of thanks. The inauguration ended with the Guests, dignitaries,
faculty members, students and everyone present at the ceremony stood for national anthem.
There are 34 cultural, academic and sports fest during the three day events scheduled from 17th to 19th
Jan 2020 with students from more than 40 colleges participating across the country.
There are cultural programs by renowned Bollywood artists in the evening from 7 pm onwards viz., A.R.
Rahman Conservative Band on 17th Jan, DJ Akhil Talreja on 18th and the singer duo Sacheet Tandon and Parampara Thakur on 19.01.2020.
