Sri Sri University Hosts International Model United Nations (IMUN)

The first International edition of Sri Sri University Model United Nation, The SSUIMUN, was inaugurated on 7th of February onboard it’s campus. The Inauguration was graced by Mr. Subrato Panigrahi, Director and Founder, Institute of Quality and Environment Management Services Pvt. Ltd. and Miss Kusum Musaddi, Secretary General of West Bengal Federation of United Nations.

The event started with lighting of the lamp and Guru Puja by Mr. Narendra Lamba, Director of Operations, Sri Sri University. Model United Nation meets are replicas of United Nation Meets. SSUIMUN is a 3-day event where five committees will be debating over agendas decided by Executive board members, along with the debates, they’ll put forth their ideas and counteract the fellow delegates over theirs. They will also debate over sustainable and economic development of the country based on their agendas.

On the second day, SSUIMUN, was graced by Dr. Arun Kumar Sahoo, Hon’ble Minister, Higher Education, Agriculture & Farmer’s Empowerment, Fisheries & Animal Resources Development, who mesmerized the audience with his witty deliberations. Dr. Sahoo said that he felt positive vibrations after entering the university campus and asked the Management to enroll him as a student of SSU. He said, “It’s very difficult to be simple and its very simple to be difficult.” He enlightened the audience by speaking about the psyche of telling or listening of truth and told that in order to become a good writer or speaker, one has to be a good listener.

Dr. B. R. Sharma, Executive Registrar welcomed Hon’ble Minister Dr. Arun Kumar Sahoo and representatives of Zindagi Foundation to the third edition of SSUMUN 2020. Ms. A. Pranathi Naga Sai, the Secretary General, IMUN told few facts about the major global issues of the world. It was followed by music and dance performance by the Department of Performing Arts and Yoga Dance by students of Department of Yogic Science. Mr. Narendra Lamba gave a speech and brought a wave of energy into the environment by describing about Poojya Gurudev’s two perspectives i.e., education and agriculture.

Director of Student Affairs, Captain Chandra Sekhar Panda offered the vote of thanks.
