Park Utsav unfolded its mystic attraction as the park goers participated in various infotainment activities.

Bhubaneswar:More than 3,000 gathered in two leading parks of the Temple City, i.e. Indira Gandhi Park and Madhusudan Das Park as the first Park Utsav unfolded its mystic attraction as the park goers participated in various infotainment activities.

From awareness on health to Mu Safaiwala to songs, drawing and physical activities including meditation, yoga and roller skating the participants enjoyed all the events.

As an introductory note Vice-Chairman Bhubeneswar Development Authority, who is also the Municipal Commissioner of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) and CEO of Bhubaneswar Smart City Limited, Prem Chandra Chaudhary, welcomed all park goers and invited them to have a new experince in city parks, which will be organised on Sundays at alternate locations across the city.

Priyanka Priyadarshini Swain a student of Class VI, who participated in the group dancing event at Madhusudan Das Park, Pokhariput, said the encouragement from the viewers was very inspiring and she would love to participate more in future. She was part of the troupe from Bichraj School of Art and Culture, Chakeisiani, and eight students came all the way from the institute under the guidance of their teacher Upendra Pradhan. They performed Tollywood and Bollywood mix songs.

Sambit Samanta, a cost accounting professional termed the event as very successful and hoped that like the success of Patha Utsav, the Park Utsav will also be loved by the citizens.

Former Corporator Hrudayaballabha Samantray, a regular at Madhusudan Das Park, said “the event is a very good step by city authorities towards providing a new experience in city parks.”

Nrupakishore Patnaik, a senior citizen said “the Park Utsav will be loved by all from kids to elderly as it will provide education, awareness and entertainment to the park users.”

As per the decisions taken by the city authorities while the first Park Utsav was organised at IG and Madhusudan Das Parks, on February 9 it will be organised at Biju Patnaik Park and Buddha Jayanti Park, on February 16 at Mahatma Gandhi Park and Kharavela Park and on February 23 at BDA City Centre (NICCO Park) and Madhusudan Das Park.

Similarly on March 1 it will be organised at IG Park and Buddha Jayanti Park, on March 8 at Biju Patnaik Park and Kharavela Park and and on March 15 it will be held at BDA City Centre and Madhusudan Das Park.

As an interesting start with awareness on “No to Plastic” campaign of the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation through “Mu Safaiwala” programme more than 1,200 cotton bags were distributed in two locations of Park Utsav today.
