St. Xavier’s High School Celebrates International Women’s Day with “The Bhutan Teens of Womanhood” 

CUTTACK, ODISHA – In a vibrant tribute to the spirit and achievements of women, St. Xavier’s High School (Mission Road Campus) hosted a grand celebration titled “The Bhutan Teens of Womanhood” on March 7, 2026.

The event brought together educators, social activists, and political leaders to honor the courage and success of women in modern society.

​The ceremony was held under the chairmanship of Dr. Pravat Charan Mahanti, Chairman of the St. Xavier’s Educational Trust.

The occasion was graced by Mrs. Sophia Firdous, MLA of Barabati-Cuttack, who attended as the Chief Guest.

Addressing the gathering, Mrs. Firdous emphasized the role of young women as the primary drivers of social change and progress.

Distinguished guests in attendance included:

  • Mrs. Kalpana Patnaik, Odisha Information Commissioner
  • Mrs. Sudipta Nanda, International Court of Referee
  • Mrs. Snigdha Mahanti, Vice-President of the Trust
  • Mrs. Aliva Das, Assistant Director
  • Mrs. P.S. Priyadarshini, Headmistress, St. Xavier’s Patia

​The event featured a dynamic blend of traditional and contemporary activities.

Under the supervision of Headmistress Mrs. Rupa Mishra, the school organized a series of competitions including a Traditional Dress Ramp Walk, Musical Chairs, and local favorites like Puchi, Spoon Races, and Tug-of-War.

These activities were designed not only for entertainment but to foster a sense of community and physical well-being among the participants.

​”Our goal was to create more than just a ceremony; we wanted a platform that inspires women to continue their journey toward excellence,” said Mrs. Rupa Mishra during her address.

​The celebration saw active participation from members of the Rotary Club, Inner Wheel Club, and faculty members from Shailabala Women’s College.

The program concluded with a festive treat featuring local delicacies, leaving the attendees with a reinforced commitment to the theme: “Prosperous Society, Educated Women: Our Shared Responsibility.”
