Justice of the Orissa High Court

BY ADARSH MISHRA

Cuttack : Justice Harish officially took his oath as the 35th Chief Justice of the Orissa High Court on Wednesday. The oath was administered by Odisha Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati during a ceremony held at the Orissa High Court premises. The event saw the presence of High Court judges, members of the Bar Association, and various dignitaries. This milestone follows the Supreme Court collegium’s recommendation for Justice Tandon’s appointment as Chief Justice of the Orissa High Court on March 6. Before the ceremony, Justice Tandon and his wife paid a visit to the Puri Jagannath temple, where they received a warm welcome from District Collector Siddharth Shankar Swain, Superintendent of Police (SP) Vinit Agrawal, and officials from the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration. The couple took a moment to offer their prayers to Lord Jagannath and other deities. As a gesture of respect, Justice Tandon and his wife were presented with a traditional Khandua Pata by the district administration and SJTA officials. Before taking on his role at the Orissa High Court, Justice Tandon practiced law at the Calcutta High Court, where he was appointed as a judge on April 13, 2010. He earned his law degree from Calcutta University in 1983 and became an advocate in 1989.
